When Brian got off work today he decided he wanted to try his new accessory for fishing/hunting...he set up one of his bows with an arrow that is attatched to a heavy fishing line and a reel. How it's suppose to work: you shoot the arrow at a gar fish or tilapia (these fish hang out near the top or in eel grass so they are easy to spot and kill). How Brian worked it: it was very very windy and the string got wrapped around the reel wrong and the wind caught it and it came around and almost hit him..at this point, I told him "Maybe this isn't such a good idea since it's so windy out?" Brian says, "Nah, it'll be fine.." then he pulled the arrow back again and WHAPPP it came back around again and stuck in his leg...good thing it only went in about a 1/2 an inch because there are these little barbs on the arrow about 3/4 of an inch up-this is so they can pull the FISH back up out of the water and they won't slip off the arrow-not your leg though.
This is the arrow that made the attack on Brians' leg. As you can see, the barbs (they didn't go into his leg) that would help hold the fish on the arrow, when pulling it out of the water-they are almost an inch long.
This is Brian mad because we had to leave-since his leg was hurting....
After much pleading, he allowed me to take a picture to share this special moment with all our friends and family...
